At Crabtree Health we use the DUTCH test — a comprehensive dried urine hormone panel that measures not just your hormone levels, but how your body is processing and clearing those hormones. This is the test that finds what everyone else misses.
We also run a full thyroid panel including Reverse T3 and thyroid antibodies — because thousands of women are told their thyroid is normal when in fact their body is blocking the thyroid hormone they're producing. Combined with monthly physician visits, twice-monthly health coaching, and a personalized treatment plan, this is the most thorough hormonal care available in the Triangle.

Two 30-minute sessions each month with your dedicated health coach. Focused on sleep hygiene, stress management, lifestyle habits, and the behavioral factors that directly affect your hormonal health.
DUTCH comprehensive hormone test
Every quarter we run the DUTCH panel — the most thorough hormone test available. It measures your hormone levels, how your body metabolizes and clears them, your cortisol pattern across the day, estrogen metabolism pathways, and more. This is what finds the answers standard labs miss.
Full thyroid panel
Every quarter we run a complete thyroid panel — TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Reverse T3, and TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies. Most practices only run TSH. We run everything.
InBody body composition scan
Hormones directly affect body composition — muscle, fat distribution, and visceral fat. We track your InBody scan at every visit so we can see how your body is responding to treatment over time.
Hormone therapy management
If hormone therapy is appropriate for you — bioidentical or conventional — we handle prescribing, titration, and ongoing monitoring as part of your program.

THE DUTCH TEST
The test that changes everything — the DUTCH panel
The DUTCH test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) is the most advanced hormone panel available to patients today. Unlike standard blood tests that measure hormone levels at a single point in time, the DUTCH test shows us:

This test is done at home. We mail you a kit, you collect samples over one day, mail it back, and results are ready within two weeks. We review everything together at your quarterly lab visit.
The DUTCH test is a cash-pay lab offered through Crabtree Health. It is not included in your monthly payment.

Millions of women suffer from thyroid symptoms for years while being told their levels are normal. That's because most doctors only run TSH — one marker out of many. At Crabtree Health we run the complete picture:
TSH — standard thyroid stimulating hormone
Free T3 — the active thyroid hormone your cells actually use
Free T4 — the storage form that must convert to T3
Reverse T3 — a blocker that prevents T3 from working, even when levels look normal

FAQ
Q: Is the monthly membership fee covered by insurance?
The monthly membership fee of $299 covers non-clinical services — health coaching, DUTCH hormone testing, InBody scans, symptom tracking, and care coordination — which are not billed to insurance. Your physician visits and standard lab work are billed separately to your insurance plan just like any other medical visit. You pay your normal copay or deductible for those services.
Q: Is the DUTCH test covered by insurance?
A: The DUTCH test is not covered by most insurance plans and is a cash-pay lab. The cost is included in your monthly program — there is no additional charge for it. We run it every quarter as part of your comprehensive hormone monitoring.
Q: What if my standard labs come back normal but I still feel terrible?
A: This is exactly why we use the DUTCH panel and the full thyroid panel including Reverse T3. Standard labs often miss significant dysfunction that shows up clearly on more comprehensive testing. Many of our patients have been told for years that their labs are normal — and we find answers on their first comprehensive panel.
Q: Do you prescribe bioidentical hormones?
A: Yes. We evaluate each patient individually and prescribe the most appropriate form of hormone therapy based on your lab results, symptoms, and health history. This may include bioidentical estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, or thyroid medication depending on your needs.
Q: Do I still need to pay my insurance copay at visits?
A: Yes. Physician visits are billed to your insurance separately from your monthly membership. You are responsible for any copay, coinsurance, or deductible your insurance plan requires.
Q: Can I use my HSA or FSA account?
A: Many patients use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to cover the monthly membership fee. We provide a receipt and documentation to support your claim. We recommend confirming eligibility with your plan administrator, as HSA and FSA rules vary by plan.
Q: What if I want to cancel?
A: You can cancel your membership at any time with 30 days written notice. There are no long-term contracts or cancellation fees.
Q: Do I need a referral to join?

Q: What insurance plans do you accept?
A: We accept most major insurance plans for physician visits and lab work, including BCBS, Cigna, Aetna, Medicare, UHC, Humana and more. We do not currently accept Medicaid. Contact us if you have questions about your specific plan.
